Sundays on the Kentucky River

Join us as we paddle the length of the Lower Kentucky River. This is a flat water paddle which will highlight the scenic beauty of Kentucky River. You will view everything from large limestone cliffs to rolling river fields, bald eagle nests and muskrat workings, and historic bridges and communities. We will also Lock Through 4 operational river locks. Each Sunday we will paddle a different section of the river, from Frankfort to Carrollton.

Each section of the river will include a 4 to 6 mile paddle on the Kentucky River, riverside discussions with local experts about topics such as local history, bourbon on the river, mussels in the river, aquatic life of the lower Kentucky, etc.

All necessary equipment and shuttle services are provided. Refreshments and snack bags will be made available at each event, and community celebrations, including food trucks, live music, educational booths and more, will occur after the events in Frankfort and Carrollton. All proceeds go directly to the Woods and Waters Land Trust.
