Kentucky River "Downtown Paddle Trip"
On low water weekends at the Creek, a new option we have this year is our "Downtown Paddle". This trip is 4 miles on flat water, so it is suitable for beginners all the way up to those looking for the scenery located on the beautiful Kentucky River. Take in two types of aesthetics on this trip: the rural, wooded atmosphere of Frankfort; and the urban landscape, viewing the three steeples, Daniel Boone's grave, the Capital, and more!
We offer this trip on Saturdays and Sundays only. For weekday, low water rentals, see our "Kentucky River Boomerang"
This trip meets at Kentucky Riverview Park in downtown Frankfort. This is located directly across the street from the Capital Plaza Hotel. So coming in 127 S, it is on the right just before you turn and cross over the river. Coming 127 N, it is on the left just after you turn right after crossing over the Kentucky River. You can meet us there nd time on weekends from 9 - 4, and we run shuttles every hour on the hour. We do require a call ahead reservation for this trip, as it being off site, we need to account for how much gear we need. Come enjoy this new found beauty.

New this year! We are now offering trips on the Kentucky River in Frankfort every weekend from Memorial Day till Labor Day. These trips are offered by the hour, so if you want to go out for 1 hour or 4 hours, it's your choice. We are also going to be offering these trips in some of our more exclusive kayaks. Boats available from:
Hobie (Why Paddle... Pedal!)
Current Designs
Native Watercraft
These trips will be departing from Riverview Park across from the Capital Plaza Hotel. This is a great way to get out on the water, try out some higher end boats, and not have to go far from town!

When the water gets low on the creek in the summer time, we are not completely down and out. We offer our Kentucky River Boomerang Trip. This is a beautiful stretch of river that passes by farm fields and the famed rolling hills of Kentucky. On this trip, you follow us in your vehicle to your put in point at the Kentuky River Campground. Once you are parked, you put in and can paddle either up or downstream (this part of the river has no real current), then return back to the same spot to take out. The campground has a nice rock beach as well as a picnic pavilion that is perfect for stopping to enjoy your lunch. A great alternative to a day on the creek.
